That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. --Romans 10: 9

Yes, You May
As children we played the game "Mother may I". One child played the mother or father (the authority figure) and the rest of us were their subjects.  We all started some distance from the "mother" and would ask for permission to take steps of various sizes towards the front.  One could only move forward when the leader would give approval by saying, "Yes, you may."  The first player to make it to the front was the winner.

Perhaps in some aspects, life works the same way.  When we want to make forward progress, we must obtain permission.  We need a higher authority to allow us, and even show us, how to move ahead.  It is a rare week that passes that I do not encounter someone whose life is significantly hindered by a debilitating vice.  Sometimes it is a negative relationship; often it is drugs, alcohol or some other addiction.  They really are trapped and can't see any way out.  They need "permission" if you will to escape their prison.

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."
-- John 1:12

The good news I want to share with you today is that you can escape your prison! No matter how powerful their hold upon you, the chains of sin that bind you can be broken! Right now, if you will confess your sins to Jesus Christ, ask him to forgive you and invite him into your heart, you will be saved. Your life will be completely changed! Are you wondering if you really can be cleansed completely and receive a brand new start, the answer is a resounding, "Yes, you may!"

Thank God everyone is invited to become his special child!  If you would like to learn more about how to have a vibrant and growing relationship with the Lord, please contact me.  Our church offers many opportunities for every age group to worship, fellowship and learn more about God.  Read through this newsletter carefully, check out the website or just give us a call.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Spreading the good news,
Pastor Jim
