ufmc home         worship with us          go with us          contact us         check the calendar         view events         read pastor jim's msgs       In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. --John 3:3         Read Pastor Jim's Messages for biblical guidance and inspiration.       March 2008 The Only Way In modern American society we are afforded a multitude of choices as consumers.  Consider, for instance, the grocery store.  In the cereal aisle alone you can choose from dozens of different types of brand names or generics.  How about the many varieties of soups?  Even our orange juice comes in numerous levels of "pulp"!  Now consider the options we have when purchasing new clothes or a vehicle.  We have taken "choice" to an extreme! Given the influence of our secular society, this perceived privilege of choice can carry over into our spiritual journeys.  Popular political correctness tempts us to concur when we hear someone expound on a new personal path to salvation and eternal life.  After all, we have the right to "choose" what we want, don't we?   Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."  --John 14:6   The Bible teaches that we do have the right to choose to accept Jesus or reject him.  But we cannot create our own path that leads to heaven.  In limiting our choices to just one, the Lord is not being arbitrary but rather making the decision obvious and simple.  God intensely desires that every person on this planet come to full salvation in Jesus Christ.  Have you found "the only way" that leads to the Father? Easter will be observed on March 23 this year, the earliest possible date on the calendar.  We will celebrate the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ, recognizing that he is indeed "the only way" to peace in this life, and eternal happiness in heaven.  Let me encourage you to make plans now to join me in regular worship and the study of God's word this month as we seek his perfect way in our lives together.  I look forward to seeing you!
