...lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before
them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star,
they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. -- Matthew 2:9-10 |

| December 2007 |
| A December to Remember |
| What do you remember most about Christmases past? The family gatherings? That special unexpected gift? The surprise visit of a loved one? Think about it for a moment,
what was your best Christmas ever? Which one do you remember the most and always look back on with
fondness? Which one, every time you think of it, brings a smile to your face?
|
| Isn't it great to have and cherish those precious memories? Thank God for the ability to remember those special times, for they are vital to our wellbeing and enjoyment of life. We have just come through the Thanksgiving season, but I want to exhort us all to continue to thank God for his many and rich blessings as we journey through the holiday season. |

“I thank my God every time
I remember you."
-- Philippians 1:3 |
|
| Is it possible for us to make this Christmas, even this whole December, a special one for people to remember? What might we do for them that would so bless and encourage them they would never forget it? Could we buy them a special gift or surprise them with a visit. Could we send them a card with warm expressions of love and appreciation? Or, might I suggest, that we simply give them Jesus?! What do people need the most today? Is it money, gift cards or gadgets? No, what they really need is Jesus! And what we really need to do is give him away to them! God help us this year, in the midst of the seasonal insanity of hyperactivity, to pause and consider the deepest needs of those we meet.
|
| Throughout this month we have planned a number of special events to help
you get the most out of the season and to assist you in helping others celebrate Christmas appropriately.
We have scheduled everything from a Christmas Carol Hymn Sing and Christmas Program, to a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service and a guest speaker from Venezuela! You need to carefully pour over the events page for all the details. I encourage you to personally take advantage of each of these opportunities to
celebrate the season and I urge you to bring someone else with you. Working together we can truly make this "A December To Remember"!
