Cross-Roads
Each of us has faced many crossroads in our lives, circumstances that required us to make a major decision that would affect the rest of our lives. For you this may have included the choice of a school, career, job change or a mate for life. Every one of these areas, and others besides, requires a great deal of thought, prayer and counsel to ensure a wise decision.

Jesus was at a crossroads as he neared the city of Jerusalem. He determined to be obedient to the Father and follow through with the purpose of his life, which included a painful death on the cross. It was, of course, a necessary sacrifice to pave the way for the salvation of mankind.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”  -- I Corinthians 1:18
Our church finds itself at a crossroads also as we take the first steps towards acquiring the needed utilities and facilities on the new property this spring. The excitement is building as we look forward to the opportunities God has given us to reach greater numbers of people for Christ in this new endeavor. I urge you to continue to pray for the church and its leaders as we seek the Lord’s guidance each step of the way. I plan to give an update on the progress at the Annual Society Meeting at 6:00pm on Sunday, April 29.

There will, no doubt, be other significant crossroads in the future, each one with its own set of potential consequences. As each crossroad presents itself, we must earnestly seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Where are you now in your life? What decisions are you presently facing? Where is the Lord leading you? You will find all the guidance and help you need in Jesus. May I offer a pastoral exhortation that you join with me each Sunday during this Easter season as we search together for His will in our lives? The better you know the Master, the easier it is to choose the right path as you encounter each succeeding crossroad.

Following His lead,
Pastor Jim
